Whether you have hit your goals, whether you feel like you aren’t quite there yet. We all can be using these tips to kind of keep growing, right? If you’ve already hit your goal, I would say set another goal, set a higher goal, why not? Set a retention goal; set a unit goal rather than the number of students. Because it’s just going to just give you that much more confidence and that much less stress when it comes to summer. If you can exceed your goal and start putting away some of that money for summer or some of that money for expansion and for some renovations or for maybe a trip for you and your partner or a retreat for you and your staff members. There’s so much stuff that you could be…if you go and above your goal that you could be doing without money. If you hit your goal, congratulations, keep going! If you aren’t quite there yet, no worries there’s plenty of time. And we’re going to talk about some things that you can that hopefully get you closer to it sooner rather than later.

How to setup a way for productivity and success?

We are always looking for that magic trick that will make things less overwhelming, make us more efficient, more productive, and all that good stuff.

So you start your day or your week with like a super long to-do list; you have the best of intentions; you think you got all this time. And then…before along you get wrapped up and other people’s emergencies either at home or at the studio possibly. Maybe other people’s responsibilities get passed along to you (which I have a good book for that, by the way). Or maybe like the things that are urgent but not important kind of take over, the busy work, the things that need to get done. But really at the end of the day you’re busy but you maybe haven’t accomplished much. Things like emails; creating graphics; proofing things; returning phone calls; ordering merchandise, things like that, that obviously has to happen. But, it can take up your whole day, it can suck up your entire day and then you haven’t really done anything to move your business forward, you just more like maintain things. Tell me if that happens to you, guys.

Automation tools -  what are they and why do I need them? This is a really, really great topic! This is something that I get really nerdy about. I love automation, I have started using it in my studio and now in this business as a marketing strategist. I really am always looking for ways that I can add more automations into my system so that I can save time, so that I can be more consistent, and know things are getting done and they’re not falling by the wayside.

I know a lot of us have enrollment for the year because of recitals, and costumes, and this and that, etc. I’m here to say that doesn’t mean that you can’t still be generating revenue and being creative about how we are bringing more students; more money.

I want to talk about one of my strategies that I am using for the next season to try to grow my enrollment; grow my studio; make us serve our customers and our community in a better way.

What do we know about our customers?

This is what we need to think about first. This is what I know about my customers:  we are competing with multiple activities – gymnastics; soccer; girl scouts. Whatever it is, drama club, something like that, we’re competing with that activity. And I’m sure you’re struggling with that same thing.

We also have families that have multiple children in activities, so they’re busy. They have unique scheduling needs; their finances might be a little bit stretched across all of those activities. You know sometimes we have families that say: “I only can come if it’s on a Tuesday” and either of, “I only can come if it’s on a Saturday.” I’m sure you have those families, too. And then the other thing is, because of that we know that some families either aren’t willing or aren’t able to commit to full programs; to full school year programs; or full year programs if you run a full-year studio.

So, what do we do? We don’t want to eliminate those families, we want to figure out how can we serve those families and still attract them to us; still bring in those families and show them what we’re about and then maybe if they decide that dance is something that is for them, they will commit to more classes, more programs, something else.
